Revelation 2:19n“I know your works, love, service, faith, and your patience; and as for your works, the last are more than the first.
Revelation 2:19 “I know all the things you do--your love, your faith, your service, and your patient endurance. And I can see your constant improvement in all these things. NLT Version
Some explanatory thoughts and application:
1. Jesus wanted the church of Thyatira, and all of us, that He knows all the things that we do and that are going on in our lives.
2. In this case, He was letting them know, that He knew all the things they were doing in their service to Him.
3. Please notice what a great church and group of christians these were. They were working, loving, serving, believing, and being patient.
4. Also, Jesus told them, that He could also see that they were constantly improving in all of the things He saw them doing.
5. They were a well balanced church, and the believers were not standing still, but, rather, they were growing in their walk with Him.
6. This is a great model for our own lives. To have the balance listed here, and to be making progress. They were not standing still nor were they going backwards, but rather, they were moving forwards.
A prayer:
Father, It comforts us to know that You know all about our lives. ( although, there are times if we are not walking as ought, that our knowing that You know, is not comforting, but rather, it's convicting. ) But, for the purposes of this devotional we want to say thank You for knowing about our service. Thank You that You not only reward us in this life, but we are storing up treasures in heaven, and we will one day be given them by You personally. In Jesus name.
