"SHARING HOPE THROUGH SCRIPTURE FOR THOSE WHO NEED FORGIVENESS"

"SHARING HOPE THROUGH SCRIPTURE FOR THOSE WHO NEED FORGIVENESS"

Daniel 9:9 “To the Lord our God belong mercy and forgiveness, though we have rebelled against Him.

Some explanatory thoughts and application:

1. Who does not need forgiveness of sin(s)?

2. Forgiveness of sins, belong to God. He is the forgiver of sins.

3. Not only does He forgive sins, but, He is merciful.

4. He forgives and is merciful to those who have rebelled against Him.

5. Forgiveness, means, to pardon, to spare. Mercy, means, to have compassion, tender love, great and tender pity.

6. These two things, forgiveness, and mercy belong to God.

7. Notice who He gives them to. "though we have rebelled against Him" Rebelled means, to revolt, to go against God, to sin.

8. Here's the truth and the promise of God for us in our rebellion and our sin. 1John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful andjust to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

To confess, means to say the same thing, to agree with another. It means that we agree with God when He speaks to us about our sin, and when we do, He forgives us, and He cleanses us. This is His promise to us.

A prayer:

Father, You are the forgiver of sins, You are the merciful God who cleanses us, and does not condemn us. How we thank you for who You are , and what You do for us. It's hard to imagine going through life, without You being so gracious to us, and cleansing us of our unrighteousness. We pray today, that we might simply bring any unconfessed sin to You, and receive Your wonderful forgiveness. Your pardon, Your mercy, Your compassion. We love You Lord, in Jesus’ name.
