"SHARING HOPE THROUGH SCRIPTURE ABOUT FINDING GOOD AND BEING HAPPY"

"SHARING HOPE THROUGH SCRIPTURE ABOUT FINDING GOOD AND BEING HAPPY"

Proverbs 16:20 He who heeds the word wisely will find good, And whoever trusts in the LORD, happy is he.

Some explanatory thoughts/explanation/questions and a prayer:

The Book of Proverbs, from which today's verse is taken has been given to us by God, and it contains practical suggestions for successful living. When you read through all 31 chapters, it's amazing how God has covered almost every area of life imaginable, and given us His wisdom about those areas. The one today is very simple, but profound, it's about "Finding good and being happy"

1. The person who will listen to instruction will prosper.
Proverbs 16:20 He who heeds the word wisely will find good,
That's essentially what is being said here. If a person will listen to God's Word, or if they will heed God's Word, they are going to find something. And, that something is called, "Good" or they will find "Prosperity" Or things going well for them, as compared to going bad.

The Word "good" means, better, best, prosperity, agreeable, glad, happy, right, welfare and happiness.
So, good can be found, but, it's a result of heeding the Word of God. of listening to God's instruction.

2. The person who trusts in the LORD will be a happy person.
Proverbs 16:20b And whoever trusts in the LORD, happy is he.

Once again, the one thing is the result of another. Happiness in the life of a Christian, is the fruit of trusting in the LORD, or having faith in God.

To trust or have faith means, to put your confidence in, to hope in, to be secure in.
We are given faith by God, and we gain more faith by listening to and receiving His Word into our lives. Faith comes by and through the Word of God.

Thus, you can see that a happy person is a person who is trusting in God, trusting in His Word. Happiness is one of the wonderful benefits of being in the Word of God.

Some questions:

1. Are you finding good at this time in your life?

2. Are you heeding the Word of God at this time in your life?

3. Do you spend time daily in God's Word?

4. Do you know God really wants to bless your life?

5. Do you want to trust God but are having trouble doing so?

6. Will you let Him help you to trust Him by becoming a person who reads and studies the Bible.?

7. Will you make that request of God today, to help you, and will you then act upon what God wants you to do?

A prayer:

Our Father in heaven. Hallowed be your name. You are great and mighty. We know Lord that You want Your will to be done in our lives, and that Your will comes through Your Word. Thank You for revealing Your will to us in Your Word. But, Lord, so often we have neglected Your Word, and than wonder why our lives are so empty and miserable. But Father You have given us a great promise here. May this promise become a new starting point for many of us today.

Proverbs 16:20 He who heeds the word wisely will find good, And whoever trusts in the LORD, happy is he.

We love You Father.
In Jesus name, amen.
